Of course this is one of my strongest skills so far as I am using (X)HTML and CSS for many years (and now I am doing HTML-5) and I know these technologies and standards by heart.
Cross-browser compatibility
All of my coding are working very well in all web browsers such as Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer (6 ~ 9), Opera, Safari, RockMelt, etc as I know how their rendering engines work.
Valid XHTML/HTML-5 CSS coding
Since the validation is one of the simplest ways to check whether a page is built in accordance with W3C web standards, I create the valid XHTML & CSS pages which are globally agreed.
Most websites use JavaScript and jQuery library to enable front-end (client-side) scripting and this is what exactly I am using on a lot of websites.
My jQuery skill
I can do my own hand-coding jQuery functions for most JavaScript interfaces but my JS skills will not too good as a (solid) JS developer I'm afraid.
I love to build my own JS interface rather than using free plugin as most of them are really mess up in their coding.
By the way, this Slide-show (now you are looking) is my own coding and I have done in very simple way - only 8 lines :)
I love LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP) platform and open source web development, and I do PHP and MySQL for Back-end coding stuff as well.
PHP and MySQL
I have done over 10 database driven websites in PHP (not OO) and MySQL. I have been working on hotel booking system, online shop, Intranet customer management & billing system.
CMS
I can do handcoding basic CMS from scratch which allows website owner to update their site. I also have been working on open source CMS such as WordPress, Joomla, Magento and Drupal.
Since Search Engine Optimization (SEO) has become identity maker for organisations, I normally try to make SEO friendly sites and I always share my SEO knowledge and experience to my colleagues.
My SEO Experiment
I used to consider the way of my coding style and page template design (If I have to do) from SEO point of view.
I normally follow SEO rules and webmaster guidelines to avoid possible search engine penalties.
I have done 3 pure seo projects in the past. Pages from one of my seo projects listed in Google first page within 2 months with high competition (over 50,000 UK monthly searches) keywords :-)
